Sectional Vulcaniser Press

STARK sectional vulcanising presses splice fabric ply and steel cord belts of any width — modular aluminium sections, PT100-controlled heat to 200°C, and a data-logging control box.

STARK sectional vulcanising presses

STARK sectional presses are lightweight, durable and modular — built from high-grade aluminium platens and beams that deliver maximum tensile and bending strength at minimum weight, with complete coverage for all splice lengths in fabric ply or steel cord belts. Traverse-bar construction means the press scales to any belt width, and the lightweight sections are practical to transport and assemble at the splice site. Standard sizes are stocked; any size can be manufactured.

Precision temperature and pressure

Each platen is a custom extruded plank with silicone heating elements and composite insulation, flexing to contour to belt irregularities for a uniform splice. A rubber pressure bag distributes pressure evenly across the splice area, and pressure bolts pass through the cross-beam profile for a high level of operator safety, backed by STARK’s H-bar restraining system as a secondary lock.

The STARK Switchgear control box reads exact temperature in each heating plate via PT100 thermo-sensors, monitors individual heating circuits differentially, and stores splice data through a built-in data logger. Temperature and cure time set automatically; one box controls a full set of platens. All electrical systems are CE, CSA and UL approved.

Sizing your press

Platen length is your belt manufacturer’s recommended splice length plus 150 mm for fabric belt or 355 mm for steel cord; platen width is belt width plus 150 mm (fabric) or 200 mm (steel cord), with a bias multiplier of 1.05 (17°) or 1.07 (22°). Send us your belt spec and we’ll size the press — custom rectangular configurations and multiple-platen arrangements are also available, and replacement control boxes, platen cords and pressure bags are stocked.

Why choose STARK sectional presses

  • Modular traverse-bar design covers any belt width with manageable component weights
  • PT100-controlled, differentially monitored heating for consistent splice quality
  • Built-in data logger records every splice for QA records
  • Pressure-bolt and H-bar restraint system for operator safety

Frequently asked questions

Can one press do both fabric and steel cord splices?

Yes — the same press handles both; only the platen sizing allowance differs (150 mm vs 355 mm over splice length).

What power supply do we need on site?

Presses are built for your site voltage — 220 to 525 V standard, others on request.

Are spare parts available in Australia?

Yes — Mine Supply International supplies replacement control boxes, platen cords and pressure bags.
