Traditional chute problems are predictable: blockages, incorrect loading onto the belt, material degradation, excessive chute wear, no maintenance access, no room for belt cleaners, and poor sealing at the load zone. Richwood — with over 40 years in bulk material handling — designs new and retrofit transfer chutes that engineer those flaws out before fabrication begins.
For retrofit chutes, Richwood uses Discrete Element Method (DEM) flow analysis, 3D laser scanning and project modelling to design the chute around your real structure and material behaviour — assuring correct wear liner selection and a precise fit. Every design starts from safety and efficiency: maximum throughput, properly contained and directed flow, a fully troughed load zone, room for belt cleaning, and effective dust control.
Built into every Richwood chute:
The right liner depends on material properties, capacity and speed, trajectory and discharge. Richwood manufactures its own proprietary liner formulations in-house — over two decades as a wear liner leader — including Rock Plate™, a matrix of high-alumina ceramic floating in shock-absorbing Rock Flex® rubber over an R2000 rubber cushion layer: abrasion resistance and impact protection in one liner. Modular panels are custom-engineered per application, replaceable individually in the highest-wear areas, with bolt-on, weld-on or magnetic attachment options and a deliberately limited number of panel sizes for simple inventory control.
Yes — retrofits are a Richwood specialty: 3D laser scan of the existing structure, DEM modelling of your material, then a chute and liner package designed for precise fit.
Panels are individually replaceable through integrated access, so relines target only the worn zones instead of stripping the whole chute.
Richwood chutes operate across coal, hard rock, aggregate, potash and more — the liner formulation and flow design are matched to your material’s properties.
